PURPOSE: To appoint the election inspectors for the November 4th, 2025, election and establish the public accuracy test date and time.

This notice is posted in compliance with PA 267 of 1976 as amended (Open Meetings Act), MCLA 41.72a (2) (3) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

The township will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services such as signers for the hearing impaired and audio tapes of printed material being considered at the meeting, to individuals with disabilities at the meeting or public hearing upon three (3) days’ notice to the Clerk.

TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE BERTRAND CHARTER TOWNSHIP, BUCHANAN DISTRICT LIBRARY, BERRIEN, COUNTY, MICHIGAN 
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Public Accuracy Test for the electronic equipment that will be used for the August 5th, 2025, Special Election has been scheduled for July 22nd, 2025, at 9:00 AM at Township Hall in the Chamber Room located at 3835 Buffalo Rd., Buchanan, MI 49107 
The public accuracy test is conducted to demonstrate that the computer programming used to tabulate the votes cast at the Election meets the requirements of Michigan Election Law.

Notice of Registration-August 5th, 2025, Special Election
NOTICE OF REGISTRATION
 BUCHANAN DISTRICT LIBRARY ELECTION
TUESDAY, AUGUST 5, 2025
 
To the qualified electors of Buchanan District Library in the County of Berrien, State of Michigan.
 
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that any qualified elector of the Buchanan District Library district, who is not already registered, may register to vote at the office of their City/Township Clerk; the office of the County Clerk; a Secretary of State branch office, or other designated state agency. Registration forms may be obtained at their City/Township Clerk’s Office or at mi.gov/vote and mailed to their City/Township Clerk. Voters who are already registered may update their registration with their local clerk or at www.expressSOS.com.
 

The last day to register in any manner other than in-person with the local clerk is Monday, July 21, 2025.
 
After this date, anyone who qualifies as an elector may register to vote in person with proof of residency (MCL168.492) at their local City/Township Clerk’s office.

To the qualified electors of the Cities and Townships in Buchanan District Library, Berrien County, Michigan, notice is hereby given that an ELECTION will be held in the following precincts:
 
On Election Day, Tuesday, AUGUST 5, 2025, polls will be open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM and that day the election will be held at the following locations:

There is no Early Voting taking place for this election in Berrien County.

Early Voting Information: There is no early voting for the August 5th, 2025 special election.

IMPORTANT ABSENTEE BALLOT & IN-PERSON DATES

Voters are still able to receive an absentee ballot
  • Last day we can mail a ballot to a voter is Friday 8/1/2025  @ 5:00 PM
  • Voters can still receive an absentee ballot in person:
    • Until Monday 8/4 at Twp. Hall until 4:00 PM (on that Monday voters are not allowed to leave the building with the ballot, they will need to vote the ballot and return it)
    • Twp hall office hours are Monday-Thursday 9:00 am- 4:00 pm.
    • Voters can vote in person on Election Day 8/5/2025
  • Polls will be open 7:00 AM- 8:00 PM
  • To confirm your polling location, visit mvic.sos.state.mi.us
Absentee ballots can be returned: via mail, drop box at your local clerk’s office, returned in person, or tabulated by the voter at the Early Voting Precinct or the Voter’s precinct on Election Day.

ALL ABSENTEE BALLOTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE CLERK'S OFFICE BY 8:00 PM ON ELECTION DAY.
